Without this ring i thee wed, for Prince William that is... While he is giving up his bachelor status and taking a bride, it has recently been announced that this future king has chosen to forgo a wedding band after he is married. I must admit, im not one who is particularly captivated by the royal couple, but I am interested in all things jewelry including the much debated issue as to whether or not men should wear wedding rings. After reading an article in the NY Times, I have since gained further perspective on this debate and must say, I have a much more open mind to those who are seeking a more untraditional approach to marriage (i highly suggest reading this article). As for the royal couple, a spokesperson for the two declared, "there is only going to be one ring, in accordance with the couple's wishes..." Kate's ring will be fashioned out of a piece of gold mined from Welsh mountains and first presented to William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. But is this really an issue? I mean honestly now, I highly doubt the reason behind the Prince's choice to not wear a wedding ring stem from his intentions of bagging himself a mistress, although many people assume that married men who opt not to wear their wedding rings are doing so with crooked reason... I am fully aware of the power behind this tradition, but if your guy DOESNT wear jewelry and its something he isn't interested in taking up, then why make the man you love do something that makes him feel uncomfortable? Is a naked finger something to be fearful of... As for tradition, you decide, but without a ring for Prince William the royal couple shal wed...
