Green is the New Black: Luck of the Irish

March 10, 2011

With St. Patty’s day just around the corner, 1 week around the corner to be exact, some of you may be starting to think about how you are going to celebrate this year! And while you may be considering things like carrying around a pot of gold, sipping on some green beer, or enrobing yourself in full-on green attire there are other simple less obnoxious ways to celebrate the Luck of the Irish with style. Saint Patrick is the legendary Patron Saint of Ireland and one of the most traditional symbols of St. Patrick’s Day is the shamrock, a three-leaf clover which is said to have been used by St. Patrick to represent the Christian belief of the Holy Trinity. For some the shamrock still holds true to this historic symbolism, while for others it represents some mere good luck. Which ever symbolic meaning you hold true to, there is no denying the beauty of this 3-leaf green! The green wearing routine that also accompanies St. Patty’s day is a tradition which is deeply rooted in the land and vegetation of Ireland and the fact that it has undoubtedly earned its name as the Emerald Isle! Almost anything relating to Ireland is usually associated with the color green! Below I have compiled a few festive accessories that can go a long way this St. Patty’s day, but however you choose to celebrate this year, I am hoping the luck of the Irish finds all of you in good health and good company.
