Barbie's on Melrose!

March 9, 2011

Twelve inches high, plastic, and traditionally blonde, Barbie is her name and for decades this doll and her never ending line of fashionable clothes and accessories have captivated average girls everywhere! Hitting the scene in the early 1960’s Barbie’s style has and continues to evolve mirroring current fashion trends over the years, and while the first Barbie doll wore a black and white zebra striped swimsuit with her signature topknot ponytail, today I want to pay a little homage to Barbie in a different respect! I am so looking forward to the weekend and some of the To Do’s on my agenda are to include hitting up a couple of local neighborhood haunts I have been itching to visit right here on Melrose, both to feature none other than Barbie, but on entirely separate scales! The Kantor Galley is showcasing an amazing Andy Warhol exhibit at the moment called, Graphite on Paper- drawings by Andy Warhol and it just so happens that one of his drawings is a Graphite on Paper of Barbie! I am also planning on making a stop at Tarina Tarantino for some possible birthday gift shopping! I absolutely luv everything about this store and while the accessory style she has to offer isn’t really up my alley, you can often get some fab one a kind gifts- not to mention she has a whole line of Barbie themed goodies!  Cant wait, Barbie’s on Melrose
